15 April 2010 The Taranaki National Art Awards is an event not to be missed.
This annual event is a collection of art and object art entered by artists from around New Zealand. Their work is of a high standard and most work is available for purchase. Artists are judged in seven categories: Painting; mixed media, Rural Taranaki, 3D, Watercolour, Fibre Art, Aspects of Aotearoa and Photography. The exhibition will be open for public viewing from 29 October to 6 November 2010 and entry costs $2 per person.
This event is held while the Taranaki Rhododendron Festival and the Fringe Garden Festival is on in Taranaki so come for the week. So come visit, you won't be disappointed. Location/venue: Sandfords Event Centre, Tasman street, Opunake, opposite the Opunake High School.

Cost: $2 per person to view the exhibition
